Trains cancelled after Rotherham Central station closed due to flooding

Rail services through Rotherham are facing disruption after the central station was closed due to flooding.

Trains have been cancelled, with problems expected for the rest of Monday, Northern Rail said.

It follows heavy rain after Sunday's snowfall.

A spokesperson said: "Network Rail staff are on site and believe that the station is likely to be closed until the end of the day.

"Services will run via a diversion line and fail to call at Rotherham station."Passengers from Sheffield are advised to travel to Meadowhall and change for road replacement transport to Rotherham Central.

Those from Rotherham Central are advised to travel on road replacement transport to Meadowhall and change there for alternate services.
