Man found dead in floodwater in North Yorkshire identified
A man found dead in floodwater in North Yorkshire has been identified.
The man's body was discovered near Intake Lane in Beal, close to Eggborough and Knottingley, on Monday.
North Yorkshire Police said he is believed to have entered the water in the last 48 hours.
He had no identification or personal belongings with him but was wearing a multicoloured, knitted jumper. An image of a similar piece of clothing was issued by police with an appeal for help.
A police spokesperson said they were tracing the man's next of kin and formal identification would take place shortly.
