King's New Year Honours: All the recipients in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire
From sports personalities and TV celebrities to public officials and volunteers who give their time to serve their communities, dozens of people across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire have received recognition in the King's New Year Honours.
Among the famous names associated with the region to be given awards are former England manager Gareth Southgate, who lives in Harrogate and receives a knighthood. Paralympian Hannah Cockroft, from Halifax, is made a CBE, along with celebrity gardener Alan Titchmarsh, who comes from Ilkley.
But the list also includes a host of ordinary members of the public, who are honoured for their services to the country.
Stephen Redman, from York, has received an MBE for services to the families of children with cancer. As chair of the Candlelighters charity, he has seen it double in size.
Fiona Thompson has received a BEM for services to the community in Keighley. She set up a monthly support group for parents and carers of children with autism at Keighley College.
Nazim Ali, from Bradford, also receives a BEM. He was a volunteer at the Curry Circle project, an initiative to provide hot meals for vulnerable people in the city, and also volunteered in Iraq during the conflict between the government and Isis.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said: "Each and every day, ordinary people go out and do extraordinary things for their communities.
"They represent the very best of the UK and that core value of service... the New Year Honours list celebrates more of these unsung heroes, and I thank them for their incredible contribution."
