A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman in Lincolnshire.

Police were called to Northumberland Avenue in Stamford at 1.54pm on Sunday, 29 December.

A woman in her 40s was found dead. A 50-year-old man, from Stamford, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: "Our officers remain at the property today while investigations continue.

"We are now appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity in and around the Northumberland Road area, or any information that may assist our investigation to get in touch."
