Pedestrian killed in Leeds city centre crash with motorbike named

A 65-year-old man who died after being hit by a motorbike has been named as Kenneth Smith.

Mr Smith, known as "Kenny", was walking on Great George Street in Leeds city centre when he was hit by a blue Voge motorcycle at around 3pm on Monday, 17 December.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died a short time later.

The 26-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital with facial injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and say CCTV shows a number of drivers and pedestrians they have not yet spoken to.
