Man attacked with machetes during break-in in Mexborough

Armed robbers attacked a man with machetes after breaking into a property in South Yorkshire.

Two masked men got into the property on Victoria Road, Mexborough, at 9.11pm on Monday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said knocked a man to the floor and stabbed him.

They stole a Yamaha motorbike before escaping.

The victim's injuries are not thought to be serious.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
