M1 closed due to police incident between J34 for Meadowhall and J33 for Catcliffe

A major motorway has been closed in both directions due to a police incident.

Both carriageways of the M1 were shut between junctions 34 for Meadowhall and 33 for Catcliffe.

The southbound carriageway has since reopened.

Congestion has since increased heading northbound with stationary traffic.
