Murder investigation launched after woman stabbed to death in Sprotbrough

Police were called to Main Street in Sprotbrough at 8pm on Saturday 5 August

A murder investigation is underway after a woman was stabbed to death in a house near Doncaster.

South Yorkshire Police were called to reports of a dispute in the property on Main Street in Sprotbrough at around 8pm on Saturday 5 August.

The 53-year-old woman who had been stabbed died a short time later.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
