Sheffield bus crash wrecks power lines and disrupts trams
A road has been closed for over 12 hours and trams are delayed after a car crashed into a bus in Sheffield causing an overhead power line to come down.
Police said they were called at 9.46pm on April 3 to reports of a collision between a silver Peugeot 208 and a bus on the corner of West Street and Glossop Road.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: "We received a call at 9.46pm on Sunday, April 3 for reports of a road traffic collision on Glossop Road in Sheffield.
"It is believed that a silver Peugeot 208 collided with a bus. Damage was caused to the tram lines. The driver of the car and the bus were checked over by Yorkshire Ambulance Service, no one was injured."
Stagecoach Supertram said the blue tram services are turning at Donetsk Way and there is no service between there and Halfway. Tickets are valid on the 120 between these areas.
