Woman and two men killed in crash on A63 in East Yorkshire

A woman and two men have died following a crash on the A63 near Melton in East Yorkshire yesterday evening [November 22].

The crash happened on the westbound carriageway at around 10pm when a white BMW 1 Series collided with a grey Peugeot 3008 and set alight.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene, with a third man in a "critical condition" in hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Humberside Police.

Police have said that they are investigating the cause of the crash and they are calling on any witnesses or people with dashcam footage to come forward.

An IOPC spokesperson said: "Following a referral from Humberside Police we have started an independent investigation into the circumstances of a fatal collision on the A63 westbound carriageway, near Melton, East Yorkshire.

"We were notified by the force that two cars had been involved in the collision during the evening of 22 November and that police vehicles had been involved in a short pursuit at different stages prior to the incident.

“Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this tragic incident where sadly three people have died and a fourth remains in a critical condition."

The female victim has been named on social media as Ali Clark. by her husband Rob, who paid tribute to her calling her his "guiding star, love and best friend".

In the post on Facebook, Mr Clark added that Ali helped the local church council and also ran a bereavement walking group.

"She was a beautiful soul. She was a natural carer, moving to Bristol for a few months last year during lockdown to look after her father, who passed away with brain cancer," he said.

"She helped countless people individually."

Ms Clark's workplace, Triangle Motor company, said: "We will sorely miss her kind heart, her positive approach to everything she worked towards, and the warmth with which she spoke about her daughter, husband, and family."We are all heartbroken that somebody with so much to give, has been taken away so soon and are struggling to come to terms with the fact that we will not see her again. She will be missed."
