Police release 'video nasty' of near misses and careless driving as part of 'lifesaving' campaign
Adam Fowler's report, above, highlights a road safety campaign launched by North Yorkshire Police aiming to save lives this winter
This year alone, 30 fatal collisions have been recorded across the county.
The campaign will last for five months and see the force raising awareness about 'the fatal five' - the five most common causes of road deaths. They are:
Speeding
Using a mobile phone
Drink and drug driving
Not wearing a seat belt
Careless driving
There will also be an increased police presence on the roads.
Katy Rose from York knows all too well the turmoil caused by a fatal crash. Her mother Sonia was killed in a collision on the A19. She says a lack of patience is one of the biggest killers.
