Two men and two teens jailed over gangland shooting in Doncaster

Jack Parkes and Taylor Meanley were sentenced to life for murder

A gang has been jailed after a drive-by shooting which claimed the life of a man in Doncaster.

Lewis Williams , who was 20 years old, was killed on Wath Road in Mexborough in January. He suffered 'catastrophic injuries' after the attack and died at the scene.

Jack Parkes, 21, formerly of Arnold Crescent, Doncaster; Joe Anderton, 18, formerly of Jubilee Road, Doncaster; Taylor Meanley, 17, formerly of Victoria Street, Mexborough and Arlind Nika, 16, of formerly of Spellman Street, London, were sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court.

Parkes and Meanley were found guilty of murder, while Anderton and Nika were found guilty of manslaughter on 15 October following a six-week trial at Sheffield Crown Court.

All four were also convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

  • Parkes has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with minimum of 27 years

  • Meanley has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum of 27 years

  • Anderton has been sentenced to detention for 12 years

  • Nika has been sentenced to detention for 12 years

DCI Axe continued “The absolute reckless nature of events that played out on the 11th January 2021 not only endangered the life of Lewis, but also his associates and the broader public, going about their lawful business”.

Lewis’s mum Sandra said after the court hearing that the loss of Lewis had left the family 'devastated' and that 'life would never be the same again.
