'Dangerous' rapist jailed after attacking two teenage girls

A man is starting a 14 year jail sentence after being convicted of raping two teenage girls in West Yorkshire.

Jack Ryan, aged 24, from Liversedge, was found guilty at Leeds Crown Court of two counts of raping a 17-year-old girl in Huddersfield and one count of rape and one count of sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in Castleford.

Police Constable Craig Newbould of Wakefield District Children Vulnerable to Exploitation Team, praised the bravery of the teenager victims.

PC Newbould said: “They have shown tremendous courage in not only initially coming forward to the police, but also then giving evidence at court when Ryan refused to take responsibility for his actions.
