The Archbishop of York welcomes plans to open up places of worship at Christmas

The 98th Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, has spoken to ITV Calendar about celebrating the Christmas season during the coronavirus pandemic, and the inequalities in society that the virus has exposed.

Church leaders are among those waiting for specific Government guidance to find out exactly what restrictions will face them, and their parishioners.

Calendar presenter Duncan Wood, had the opportunity to put questions to the Archbishop of York, and started by asking him if he was encouraged by news that places of worship will be able to open their doors when lockdown ends next week:
