Leeds diver Alicia Blagg, 23, forced to retire through injury

Leeds-based diver Alicia Blagg has been forced to retire through injury.

The 23-year-old, who was born in Wakefield, told fans in an Instagram post over the weekend that she has "battled with injury after injury" since 2013.

Blagg, who has competed at London and Rio Olympics, has previously won medals on the national, European and world stage.

In her message she thanked diving coaches for their support during her career. She also expressed delight at being able to compete whilst completing her studies at the University of Miami.

Blagg is now hoping to study a Masters in Forensic Psychology with Criminology in Edinburgh.
