Barnsley man who died from stabbing named

A 43-year-old man who died after reportedly being stabbed in Barnsley has been named as Stephen Riley.

At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley where Stephen was found injured. He was taken to hospital but died shortly after midnight.

A 37-year-old man from the town has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

Mr Riley's family are being supported by specially trained officers while anyone with information is being urged to come forward.
