With the two metre social distancing rule set to be reduced from 4July, Doncaster Council has been providing some helpful tips.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson says that when cafes, bars and restaurants open, the two metre rule will become "one metre plus".

To ensure Doncastrians are keeping a safe distance from each other, the council has come up with a comical measuring system to follow.

Posting to Twitter, the council explained: "One metre is the equivalent of approximately 0.6 of Brian Blesseds."

Skaters, both professional and amateur, are being reminded that one metre is the equivalent to "six borrowed ice skates".

For One Direction fans, Doncaster-born Louis Tomlinson can be used as the measuring system of choice.

Football fans, look no further than the "coiffed locks" of Armthorpe-born, Kevin Keegan OBE.

And, one for the foodies, just imagine four standard baking trays filled with chocolate concrete.
