Coronavirus outbreak confirmed at meat factory in Kirklees
A coronavirus outbreak has been confirmed at a Yorkshire meat factoryin Kirklees owned by Asda.
Kober Ltd, based at West 26 Industrial Estate in Cleckheaton, WestYorkshire, supplies bacon to Asda stores across the country.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock revealed at Thursday evening's briefing that there had been a localised coronavirus outbreak at the site.
In a statement the supermarket giant said they are testing all colleagues and have voluntarily closed the site a precaution, while it is hoped the factory will reopen next week.
Kober Ltd on Hanging Wood Way was bought by Asda in 2016.
Kober and Forza AW Limited, in Normanton, have been the supermarket'ssole meat suppliers since 2011.
