Man's body found after caravan fire in Oxenhope

The body of man has been found in the Oxenhope village after a fire last night.

Police were called in the early hours of today (Tuesday), to a report of a caravan fire in Stone Lane, Oxenhope.

Police put a cordon in place and a number of residents were temporarily evacuated to a local community centre as gas canisters were present at the scene.

Enquiries are continuing to establish his identity.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but it is not being treated as suspicious and enquiries are continuing with the fire service.

Road closures remain in place and people are advised to avoid the immediate area.
