17-year-old dies after car hits tree in Lincolnshire village

A 17-year-old boy has died and two others have been injured after acar hit a tree in a late-night crash.

The collision happened on Caistor Road in Stainton le Vale,Lincolnshire, at around 10.30pm on Thursday, 3 June when a Mercedesleft the road and crashed into a tree.

The 17-year-old, who is understood to be from Healing, near Grimsby, was abackseat passenger in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at thescene.

The 19-year-old driver of the Mercedes and an 18-year-old malepassenger also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Floral tributes have been left at the scene.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident or any drivers who were in the area and may have dashcam footage to contactthem.
