Bolton Abbey estate reopens with a booking system in place
Bolton Abbey has reopened today with a booking system in place.
The Yorkshire estate closed to visitors in mid-March due to the coronavirus outbreak.
From today Bolton Abbey Car Park and Riverside Car Park will open to the public with Strid Wood Car Park expected to reopen in the coming weeks.
All visitors to the estate, including Season Ticket holders, staff passes and other pass holders receiving complimentary admission will now have to book their visits.
Officials say they want to monitor the number of people on the estate. It will also help to maintain the flow of visitors arriving at any one time and reduce all contact upon arrival at the car park kiosk.
There are also a number of other precautions in place to ensure visitor safety.
