Firefighters continue to tackle blaze on Hatfield Moors

Firefighters are continuing to tackle a huge blaze on Hatfield Moors this morning, following the first call out on Sunday 17 May.

A specialist helicopter, which was deployed yesterday, is expected to be in use throughout the course of today. Bulldozers are also being used to create fire breaks and prevent further spread.

The incident commander, Adam Longden, said:

The fire service is being helped at this incident by a range of other organisations – including the police, Doncaster Council and the Environment Agency.
