Police warning over coronavirus scams after Lincolnshire incident

Detectives in Lincolnshire are urging people to remain vigilant of coronavirus-related scams following an incident in Stamford.

Police say that on Monday they received a report that a motorist was flagged down by a man driving a black Audi, on Barnack Road.

After she had stopped, he then proceeded to ask the woman for Covid-19 paperwork.

When the motorist asked the man to see his identification, he said he did not have any. She then drove off from the scene.

Police add that although the motorist in this case did not lose any property or money, the risks of coronavirus-related scams remain during the pandemic.
