Hull city centre sprayed with disinfectant as part of deep clean
Hull city centre received a mass cleaning and disinfection programme in the early hours of this morning - in the fight against coronavirus.
Almost 14,000 litres of water were flushed through public places including Queen Victoria Square and Jameson Street.
Disinfectant was also sprayed on shop fronts and street furniture.
The cleaning is part of the council's plans to encourage people to continue following public health guidance and social distancing rules as lockdown restrictions are slowly eased.
Adam McArthur from Hull City Council said the thorough cleaning hopes to reassure residents that the council is taking the appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the public.
