Street of poppies created in Huddersfield for VE Day
Almost 2000 silk poppies have been planted and are adorning a public footpath at Spa Bottom in Huddersfield to commemorate VE Day - the end of World War II in Europe.
Florist Lynne Hodgkinson, who designed the beautiful tribute says her inspiration was the major art installation 'Blood Swept Lands' and 'Seas of Red' at the Tower of London.
Lynne says she is also hoping to raise money for Kirkwood Hospice with the floral tribute. She has already raised £250 for The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Local people and businesses pulled together to donate their time and materials for the VE Day commemorate masterpiece. Local school children made some of the bunting and poppy reeves.
