Lincolnshire's Red Arrows perform flypast over London landmarks to mark VE Day
Lincolnshire's Red Arrows performed a flypast over famous London landmarks to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
The aerobatic jets were deployed from RAF Scampton this morning and lit up the sky with their red, white and blue stripes.
For the first time, this year’s VE Day will be marked at home and online with a host of events to honour those who served. A small crowd gathered outside Buckingham Palace as the Red Arrows flew over.
Flight Lt Jon Bond, Red 6, said it was 'fantastic' to get out there and put the 'red, white and blue down to mark such a momentous occasion'.
The team have not flown since March and the VE Day flypast was the first they have done as the 2020 team.
