Police seize £500,000 of cannabis from drugs factory in Slaithwaite
Police are urging residents to keep reporting suspicious behaviour after uncovering cannabis worth around half a million pounds in Slaithwaite.
The Kirklees Rural NPT is continuing to investigate today following the discovery of a cannabis factory at an industrial premises on Bankgate Mills in the village on Tuesday (May 05).
Officers attended there on early Tuesday morning following a report of suspicious activity at the location from a member of the public.
NPT officers gained access to the large property and discovered around 500 cannabis plants, potentially worth up to £500,000.
The plants were seized by officers and forensic investigations were carried out throughout the day at the building which was made safe.
Three men aged 23, 27 and 34 were arrested on suspicion of the production of drugs in connection with the discovery and remain in police custody.
