Birdlington man jailed after stealing from pensioner while she slept
A man from Bridlington, who stole cash from a pensioner while she slept, has been jailed for two-and-a-half-years.
David Griffiths, 36, of Landsdowne Road, admitted to stealing £400 from a property in Jubilee Avenue on March 31.
Griffiths handed himself into police after calling a community support officer to say he had "done something stupid” and that he needed “locking up”.
The 36-year-old also admitted to stealing £111 worth of meat and groceries from a supermarket on March 26, and £60 worth of meat from a second supermarket on April 1.
