South Yorkshire man fears reduced life span as coronavirus delays cancer treatment
Report by David Hirst
People along their cancer journey have been forced to wait for treatment which could add precious months or years to their life expectancy.
One is Ben Hurd, from Goldthorpe in South Yorkshire. He has a terminal brain tumour and fears time may be running out because his chemotherapy treatment has been put on hold.
He needs treatment every six weeks to fight the cancer. There has been a dramatic fall in cancer patients visiting hospital for treatment or surgery amid fears they could catch the virus.
