Drive-through coronavirus test centre to open at Bradford University
A drive-through coronavirus testing facility will be opening at the Bradford University Horton Road car park.
It is part of the government’s aim to have 100,000 tests performed a day across the UK by the end of the month.
The site will be working on an appointment-only basis for NHS staff and other key workers, while the facility will be piloted for its first few days.
It follows the launch of the government’s partnership with universities, research institutes and companies to begin rollout of the network of new labs and testing facilities. Currently there are 36 regional sites operating, including one at Poppleton Park and Ride in York which opened today.
The centres will provide thousands more PCR swab tests and allow those who test negative for coronavirus to return to work as soon as possible, while those who test positive will be able to recover.
