Burberry transforms Castleford trench coat factory into PPE production line

Burberry has donated more than 100,000 pieces of PPE and transformed its Castleford trench coat factory to produce more needed equipment for hospital staff during the coronavirus pandemic.

The fashion giant says it has also donated masks it has sourced to help the global health emergency and is manufacturing non-surgical gowns to supply to the NHS.

The company added that it will maintain its base pay for employees who have been unable to work due to closures while senior bosses announced they will take a 20% pay cut from April to June.
