Sheffield Teaching Hospital’s maternity services are reminding women of the importance of attending their routine antenatal appointments during the current pandemic.
The service has noticed a reduction in the number of women attending both scheduled maternity appointments and those seeking urgent advice.
Paula Schofield, Head of Midwifery at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said:
The Trust has introduced a helpline for women manned by midwives which is dedicated to Covid-19 enquires.
If women have a fever or a new persistent cough or are in self-isolation due to a family member being symptomatic of Covid-19 they should contact the hospital before attending for any appointments on 0114 2268091.
