NHS begin recruiting staff for new Nightingale hospital in Harrogate
The NHS is recruiting staff to work at the new Nightingale Hospital in Harrogate.
Final preparations are underway at the town's convention centre which is being converted to help the region deal with coronavirus cases.
Initially 60 critical care beds will be available but the facility can provide up to 500 if necessary.
They will join other new sites opening at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre and Manchester's Central Complex.
This brings the total to seven confirmed NHS Nightingale hospitals in the UK.
The first patients were recently admitted to the NHS Nightingale Hospital London, which was fully functioning in less than two weeks.
Sir Simon Stevens, NHS Chief Executive said: “These hospitals will provide backup and support for NHS hospitals across the South West and the North East, should it be needed.
