Man being treated in hospital for coronavirus says there is 'no need to be scared'

The government has announced its action plan to combat the spread of coronavirus, as hospitals and councils across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire began preparations for a worst-case scenario.

A patient from Hull was confirmed as one of 12 new cases in the UK. So far there have been at least five other confirmed cases across our region - but the Prime Minister said it was "highly likely" we could see a growing number in the coming weeks.

A major coronavirus outbreak, he warned, could see the Army on the streets, police ignoring minor crimes and a fifth of workers absent.

Today, a man who's being treated for the virus at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield said he's doing fine and there is no need to be scared. Lisa Adlam reports.
