Residents evacuated and homes underwater in East Cowick
An emergency operation to help those affected by flooding in part of East Yorkshire has continued overnight.
A number of residents were evacuated from East Cowick as water levels quickly rose, while many homes and businesses there are now underwater.
Humberside Police say they are actively patrolling in Snaith, Gowdall and East Cowick and have had no confirmed reports at this stage of break-ins or looting, despite rumours on social media.
Around 60 properties in nearby Snaith were flooded when the River Aire burst its banks on Tuesday.
The Environment Agency is warning that flood plains in the area are at capacity.
