Tonight:Although a few snow showers are still expected over the Pennines, the rest of the region will become largely clear but cold, with a widespread frost expected in the morning. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Wednesday:A mixture of sunny spells and showers, wintry over hills, and just as cold and windy as Tuesday. Remaining largely dry in the east. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:Initially cold with early frosts and a few wintry showers, but some bright or sunny spells. Turning increasingly wet and windy Friday and Saturday, with gales on hills and coasts.
