Bernie Taupin and Elton John win Best Original Song Oscar

Sleaford born lyricist Bernie Taupin, picked up an Oscar on Sunday night at the star studded ceremony in Hollywood.

69- year-old Taupin and Sir Elton John, scooped best original song for their Rocketman track (I'm Gonna) Love Me Again, at the Academy Awards.

They've been writing songs together for 53 years but they have never won a Grammy together, despite individual wins for Sir Elton.

He said of his partnership with Sir Elton:

"Fifty three years is a pretty extraordinary achievement."It's like an adventure. The adventure is... discovering new worlds all the time and we've done that all our lives."
