Linthwaite attack: Two charged with murder

Two teenagers have appeared in court charged with the murder of a 53-year-old man in Linthwaite, near Huddersfield.

Robert Wilson from Birstall died after being attacked near to the Thornton and Ross works on Manchester Road on January 16, 2020.

Another man aged 39-year-old, also suffered serious injuries and was treated in hospital.

18-year-old Kiyran Earnshaw from Batley and a 15-year-old boy from Huddersfield, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were remanded in custody at Leeds Magistrates Court.

Both were also charged with possession of a bladed article and Earnshaw with the assault of a 39-year-old man in the same incident.

Mr Wilson’s family released a statement paying tribute to a loving and committed husband and father.
