Glass wall flood reduction plans to go before public next week
Plans for a glass wall to reduce the risk of flooding to 4000 homes and businesses along the Humber are to go before the public next week.
The one metre high wall would run along Hessle foreshore which flooded in the tidal surge in 2013.
It is also designed to protect the main A63 into Hull as well as the rail line that connects the city to the rest of the north of England.
The flood wall will include specially-designed flood gates along the route which will be closed during a tidal surge event.
