23-year-old man in 'serious condition' after stabbing in Sheffield

Detectives are carrying out investigations after a 23-year-old man was stabbed in Sheffield city centre yesterday morning.

Police say that at around 4:25am on Sunday (29 December) a man was stabbed near to Barkers Pool. He was taken to hospital to receive treatment, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers say this was an "isolated" incident, but additional patrols are being carried out in the area while police continue with their inquiries.

A cordon remains in place today at Barkers Pool and Burgess Street. No-one has yet been arrested.
