Man charged with attempted murder after car hits six people in Cleckheaton

A man has been charged with six counts of attempted murder after a car ploughed into a group of people in Cleckheaton on Sunday.

Three people suffered minor injuries, two people were seriously injured and one person remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Detectives say a group of pedestrians were hit by a red Audi on Bradford Road in Cleckheaton, at around 12.40am on Sunday, December 22.

49-year-old Andrew Wrigglesworth will appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today.

West Yorkshire Police has launched an investigation and officers are appealing for witnesses and information.
