Thousands gather to honour the fallen in commemorative events across the region

Thousands gathered across the region to remember those who were lost in conflict.

Parades, services and silences were held to honour the armed forces who have taken part in military campaigns since the start of the First World War more than a hundred years ago.

Among them was Ben Parkinson, Britain's most injured soldier from the conflict in Afghanistan, who was in his hometown of Doncaster to lay a wreath at the war memorial. Sally Simpson reports...
