Fire crews tackle large stack fire in North Yorkshire

Firefighters have been tackling a large blaze in North Yorkshire where a huge hay stack was set on fire.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the site to the east of Settrington, near Malton, at about 9pm last night.

A fire service spokesperson said it is believed the stack, which stands about 10m high, was deliberately set on fire.

Crews are allowing the stack to burn out under control and maintaining presence due to fire still being visible.
