Sporting legend: How Yorkshire's Beryl Burton helped shape cycling

The highlight of today's racing is the Elite Women's time trial but back in the day the Queen of the Time Trial was Yorkshire's very own Beryl Burton.

Beryl, who was born in Leeds dominated women’s cycle racing in the UK, winning more than 90 championships and seven world titles, and setting numerous national records. Her 12 hour record which was set in 1967 lasted an incredible 50 years until it was broken two years ago.
