Jon Mitchell, Dr Amir and Mama Khan rustle up a delicious curry using Calendar patch veggies
Jon Mitchell joined Dr Amir at his house and had a cooking masterclass with the one and only Mama Khan. They used vegetables grown from the Calendar vegetable patch to make a delicious, authentic vegetarian curry.
The combination of fresh vegetables and spices made a mouth watering dish.

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons of sunflower oil
1 onion sliced
4 tomatoes chopped roughly
1/4 cabbage
3 carrots thinly sliced
3 medium potatoes skin on chopped
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 tablespoon dried fenugreek leaves
100mls water
Juice of half a lemon
Method:
Heat oil in pan
Add the cumin seeds and heat for 1 minute
Add the onions and soften but not brown
Add the tomatoes, chilli powder, salt and turmeric
Stir and heat for 2 mins
Add the carrots and water and leave to cook for 4-5 mins until the carrots are soft
Add the garlic and ginger and stir
Next add the cabbage and potatoes and stir
Add the fenugreek leaves and the juice of half a lemon stir and leave to cook for 15 mins
Serve with rice or chapatti
