M62 crash: A 51-year-old woman has died

The M62 eastbound is set to remain closed during the rush hour and into the evening following a serious collision this morning. Officers have confirmed that a woman was killed in the crash.

Police were called at 10.43am to reports of a serious collision involving a number of vehicles including a HGV on the M62 eastbound, junction 22-23.

The eastbound carriageway has been closed and is likely to remain closed for some time.

A 51-year-old woman from Goole sadly suffered fatal injuries.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.
