Unearthing onions in the Veg Patch as Harrogate charity teaching adults with learning difficulties about gardening
This week Jon Mitchell has visited Horticap, in Harrogate, which helps adults with learning difficulties learn about horticulture.
The charity's sessions teach participants about gardening, and also include craft skills.
The charity surprised Jon with a gnome version of himself, which they created during one of their sessions.
Crafted with old newspapers using papier-mâché, Horticap have previously created model versions of fellow Yorkshire celebrities, including Alan Titchmarsh and Nicola Adams.
Meanwhile Dr Amir Khan paid another visit to the Calendar Veg Patch as the potatoes and onions were ready to harvest.
Their seeds were sewn back in April, with these being the first of the produce to be ready.
When thinking about how to use the 8kg of potatoes harvested, Jon suggested simply boiling and adding butter. But Dr Amir said he'll be handing his portion over to Mama Khan, for use in her fabulous Potato Curry.
