Joe Longthorne: Three-day funeral plans revealed
The funeral of the entertainer Joe Longthorne will take place over three days to allow all of his fans to say their goodbyes.
The singer died last weekend, aged 64.
The funeral will start this Sunday, when his cortege will arrive in his hometown of Hull, at his sister's house.
There will be a procession around the streets of Hull on Monday.
Then on Tuesday, the cortege will travel to Blackpool, his adopted home, for a procession around the town's streets, before a funeral service and burial.
Sunday 11th August 2019 - Joe’s cortège will drive to his sister Ann’s house in Hull where he will lay in rest overnight.
Monday 12th August 2019 - 11am: Joe’s funeral procession will proceed around his home streets of Hull.
The route will start Strickland Street/Hessle Road, onto Coltman Street past Ryders Club, Cavil Place and along Hessle Road,
The procession will then go past his late parents’ home before returning to Heavenly Services Funeral Directors on Hessle Road.
Joe will then travel back to Blackpool to rest at home overnight.
After the procession everyone is welcome back to Ryders Club on Coltman St to celebrate Joe's life.
Tuesday 13th August 2019 - Joe's cortege will leave Joe’s home in Layton at 11am and proceed through Layton High Street, towards Church Street and past The Music Hall Tavern, Winter Gardens, The Grand Theatre, Viva Blackpool and along the seafront past The North Pier to arrive at The Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church for a full Requiem Mass commencing at 12noon.
The burial in Layton Cemetery shortly afterwards and Jamie and the family would like to invite everyone back to Viva Blackpool to remember Joe.
