The owner of a B&B has taken to social media to pledge that the Yorkshire Dales are still 'open for business' despite the recent dramatic floods.

Roxanna Cloughton said: "People live here in the Yorkshire Dales. It's not closed because we've had a lot of bad luck. It's a vast area and there's loads of businesses that are still open, who rely on people coming up here to spend their money."

Meanwhile, the big clear-up after the deluge has begun with communities clubbing together to salvage what they can.

The organisation One Nation based in Batley, West Yorkshire, has set up a donation page to help those worst affected by the flooding in North Yorkshire. The group has previously helped out in disasters and emergencies all over Africa and Asia.
