Man from Hull completes 'first swim across the Humber and back' in aid of rescue charity
A record-breaking Hull swimmer has become the first person to swim the length of the Humber Bridge and back.
Richard Royal has previously completed open water swims from San Francisco to Alcatraz and the crossing from Sealand to Felixstowe but his latest adventure brought him closer to home.
He overcame the Humber Estuary's currents over a 3.7km distance from Hessle Foreshore to Barton and back in aid of Humber Rescue, which supported him during the swim.
